Ceremony and Reception Venue

We are excited to announce that we have been successful in picking both a ceremony location and reception venue! For our ceremony we found Providence Presbyterian Church in Fairfax. Providence has a traditional long isle layout (with pews) and are excited about a large stained glass window at the end of the isle. Our reception venue is the Hilton Garden Inn also in Fairfax. This is also where our accommodations will be located. We will send more details on the room block and booking procedures later. Now that we have our locations settled, we have begun the process of interviewing and selecting vendors for music, flowers, etc.

Lauren and I have started attending Western Presbyterian Church in Foggy Bottom near George Washington University and the Kennedy Center. Rev. John Wimberly, and Rev. Carol Howard Merritt are the pastors at Western, and we have enjoyed their mission oriented nature. Western is home to Miriam's Kitchen an organization that addresses the causes/consequences of homelessness in DC. One of their main programs is a breakfast program. Michelle Obama actually came to Miriam's and served breakfast a few months ago! We like Western so much, have asked John to perform our ceremony, and look forward to you all meeting him!

We both are continually busy with work, but have been able to get free time to take Foosa to the local dog park. Lauren has been quite busy preparing for the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar to be held in Richmond in May. She is the Director of Facilitators, and has recruited me as a Facilitator also. She has volunteered with HOBY the past two years, and it should be an exciting weekend at the end of May.
